When an old lady died in the geriatric ward of a small hospital
near Dundee, Scotland, it was believed that she had nothing
left of any value. Later, when the nurses were going through
her meager possessions, they found this poem. Its quality and
content so impressed the staff that copies were made and
distributed to every nurse in the hospital.
One nurse took her copy to Ireland. The old lady's sole bequest
to posterity has since appeared in the Christmas edition of the
News Magazine of the North Ireland Association for Mental
Health. A slide presentation has also been made based on her
simple, but eloquent,poem.
And this little old Scottish lady, with nothing left to give to
the world, is now the author of this "anonymous" poem winging
across the Internet:
** Crabby Old Woman **
What do you see, nurses? What do you see?
What are you thinking When you're looking at me?
A crabby old woman, Not very wise,
Uncertain of habit, With faraway eyes?
Who dribbles her food And makes no reply
When you say in a loud voice, "I do wish you'd try!"
Who seems not to notice The things that you do,
And forever is losing A stocking or shoe?
Who, resisting or not, Let you do as you will,
With bathing and feeding, The long day to fill?
Is that what you're thinking? Is that what you see?
Then open your eyes, nurse, You're not looking at me.
I'll tell you who I am As I sit here so still,
As I do at your bidding, As I eat at your will.
I'm a small child of ten With a father and mother,
Brothers and sisters, Who love one another.
A young girl of sixteen With wings on her feet
Dreaming that soon now A lover she'll meet.
A bride soon at twenty, My heart gives a leap,
Remembering the vows That I promised to keep.
At twenty-five now, I have young of my own,
Who need me to guide And a secure happy home.
A woman of thirty, My young now grown fast,
Bound to each other With ties that should last.
At forty, my young sons Have grown and are gone,
But my man's beside me To see I don't mourn.
At fifty once more, Babies play round my knee,
Again we know children, My loved one and me.
Dark days are upon me, My husband is dead,
I look at the future, I shudder with dread.
For my young are all rearing Young of their own,
And I think of the years And the love that I've known.
I'm now an old woman And nature is cruel;
Tis jest to make old age Look like a fool.
The body, it crumbles, Grace and vigor depart,
There is now a stone Where I once had a heart.
But inside this old carcass A young girl still dwells,
And now and again, My battered heart swells.
I remember the joys, I remember the pain,
And I'm loving and living Life over again.
I think of the years All too few, gone too fast,
And accept the stark fact That nothing can last.
So open your eyes, people, Open and see,
Not a crabby old woman; Look closer . . . see ME!!
Remember this poem when you next meet an old person whom you
might brush aside without looking at the young soul within..
we will all, one day, be there, too!

A Silent Prayer for the 5 Singapore Warriors who Departed While Fighting for National Glory..
The Competition was held at the Tonle Sap River in front of the Royal Palace in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, in conjuction with the Cambodia Dragon Boat Race Festival.
Well it was reported that some of them were not wearing life jackets, which i would like to add here, being a Dragonboat rower myself, during highly competitive races, life jackets really does hinder your movement while rowing, thus for optimum performance and results, most people do not really don on life jackets during races, except in Singapore, where it has become compulsory for all participants who are engaging in water activities to have a life jacket on always..
Nevertheless, the loss of 5 Talents in the Dragonboat Community will always be remembered

The Result of Saving, on your Future Wealth..
If you think about it, many people will make over a million dollars in their lifetime! If
you were to earn an average income of $3,000 a month ($36,000 a year) over 40
years (age 25-65), then you would have a total of $1.44 million ($36,000 x 40 years)
flow through your hands.
If you were like most people who spend all they earn, you will end
up after 40 years with almost nothing. But what if you were to just
save 10% of that income every month and invest it in stocks and
mutual funds that earn you a 15% return a year and let your money
compound? How much would you have after 40 years?
Using a financial calculator, you can easily compute that you would
have accumulated $6.914 million! What? Is that right? Is there
something wrong with my calculator? No! Through the power of
compounding, saving just $300 a month accumulates to over $6
million in 40 years! That is the power of consistent saving and
investing.
Most people feel that they do not have enough income to invest so
they procrastinate by saying, 'I will start when I earn more!'
Trust me, this is impossible. If you cannot save ten cents out of a
dollar, you will not save $100,000 out of a million. If you cannot
start with a small income, forget it when you have a bigger income.
Remember that if you do not start the habit of saving and
investing, you will end up with a lot more expenses when you earn
more.
Stop procrastinating! Start right away! Every day you delay is
costing you hundreds of thousands of lost dollars in your future.
Let's look at the impact of procrastination....
If you were to save $300 a month for 25 years at a 15% annual
return, you will have $826,968 in the end
If you were to start just one year later and save $300 a month for
24 years at the same 15% return, you will end up with $715,723.
That's $111,245 less!
In other words, waiting one year will cost you $111,245 in future
dollars. This is equivalent to losing $304.78 ($111,245 divided by
365 days) of future wealth every single day you procrastinate! Can
you afford to do that?
So get ready to start increasing your monthly savings right away!
How to Stay Young?
- Throw out non-essential numbers, this includes age weight and height, let the doctors worry about them, that is why you pay them.
- Keep only cheerful friends, the grouches pull you down. (keep this in mind if you are one of those grouches)
- Keep learning, learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever. never let the brain get idle. "an idle mind is the devil's workshop." and the devil's name is Alzheimer's!
- Enjoy the simple things
- Laugh often, long and loud, laugh until you gasp for breath, and if you have a friend who makes you laugh, spend lots of time with him/her!
- the tears happen: Endure, grieve and move on. the only person who is with us our entire life, is ourself. LIVE while you are alive!
- Surround yourself with what you love: whether its family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever, your home is your refuge.
- Cherish your health, if it is good, preserve it. if it is unstable, improve it. if it is beyond what you can do, GET HELP!
- Don't take guilt trips, take a trip tp the mall, even to the next country, to a foreign country, but not to where the guilt is!
- Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity.
lastly do share this with someone! Enjoy your life! Cheers! :o)

however due to her determination, she managed to learn to do almost anything with her legs! eventually she also married and has 3 kids!
Video clip is in Cantonese, so for those who dun understand Cantonese, juz watch it anyway!

What is a Domain Name?
Hello.. Today i will be talking about what is a Domain Name,
When we always search for something on the internet, we will have to key in something like ‘123.com’ or ‘onetwothree.com’, these are some examples of domain names,
but what actually is a domain name?
A domain name is actually your unique identity on the Internet. It allows your company, organization or family to establish an Internet presence, consisting of your own web site address and email addresses.
Each domain name in the world is unique - a domain name can be registered only once.
However, there are very few restrictions on domain names - anyone may register just about any domain name they wish.
As a result, more than 20,000 of .com, .net and .org domain names are being registered every day, effectively removing these domains from availability.
The following example illustrates the difference between a URL (Uniform Resource Locator) and a domain name:
URL: http://www.example.net/index.html
Domain name: www.example.net
Registered domain name: example.net
So What Do The Different Extensions Represent?
Common extensions include:
- .COM — Abbreviation of "Commerce" — currently available to all
- .NET — Abbreviation of "Network" — currently available to all
- .ORG — Abbreviation of "Organization" — currently available to all
- .INFO — Abbreviation of "Information" — currently available to all
- .BIZ — Abbreviation of "Business" — currently available to all
- .GOV — Abbreviation of "Government" — reserved for government institutions
- .EDU — Abbreviation of "Education" — reserved for educational institutions
The last part is called the extension
In this example it is ".com." Other popular extensions are .net, and .org. Many people will automatically type in .com after any domain. Securing the other extensions can make sense for many people, as they help protect your brand throughout the web.
When a request is made, the data corresponding to the hostname requested is served to the user.
A domain name uniquely identifies a website. Typing a domain name (also called a URL) into your browser allows you to visit that site.
One unique domain name can be used as a company's web address and for its email addresses.
Domains are much more than just names typed into a web browser. Your domain name is how the world will think of you and your business.
It's part of your brand and your marketing plan. You can have multiple domains that each relate to some aspect of your business. A domain can be easy to remember and help establish you on the web.
So Act Fast Now ! There is a strong possibility that if you do not register your domain name today, another one will !

Why Should you need a Website?
Hmm.. since this is my first article in my Blog, I would like to write about something which I find usually generates interesting answers whenever I present this question to people:
Why do you need a website?
LoL... Are you also thinking about this question now?
Well it seems there are a variety of reasons on why people need a website, may it be for personal, business, networking or simply a place for you to share your thoughts, a website is usually the most accessible platform to practically anyone armed with a computer and internet access!
Well i would like to list here a few reasons on why people usually have websites:
· Create/Promote awareness about themselves or product! (number one reason)
· Selling something, like a product, e-book, etc
· Build a community, like sharing thoughts and ideologies
· Improve Branding, differentiating your product, service or company
· Reach a Local, Regional, national or Global market
· Start a movement, promoting your viewpoint
· Educating people online in a specialized subject
· Last but not Least, you get to keep the website name forever as long you are holding on to the website, you know what this means? Which means once the name of your website is taken on the internet (e.g yourname.com), no one else can have it except YOU !
· If you still need a reason on why you still need a Website, it’s because your website is accessible 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week!, so if you are selling something, there’s no need for you to worry about opening your shop on time, or posting some news or event, your contacts can view it anytime too, Isn’t this a great reason to start one already?
If you still need to find more reasons on why having your own website is more essential and important than ever before;
Hope this article has been informative, feel free to leave a comment if you think that this article has been helpful to you!
Create your own website today!Wishing all readers good health and plenty of fortune! :p
